Fender Custom Shop 1961 Jazz Bass Heavy Relic
SKU: F923-1012-906
In 1961, just one year after its debut, the Jazz Bass® adopted a new control configuration with a volume knob and master tone knob for each pickup, a classic control arrangement that continues to this day. The 1961 Jazz Bass Heavy Relic® is a faithful recreation of the classic original, with several custom features favored by players around the world. Heavy Relic® lacquer finish is applied to the 2-piece alder body, which has been carefully selected for weight and wood grain. It features a straight-grained maple neck with a "U" shape reminiscent of '60s jazz basses, and a 9.5-inch radius flat ram rosewood fingerboard with 20 medium jumbo frets.
In a familiar control arrangement that debuted in mid-1961, the Hand Wound Vintage Jazz Bass pickups each have their own volume control, as well as a master tone knob. It also features a 4-ply brown shell pickguard, vintage-style bass bridge, threaded steel saddles, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut, disc string tree, and more. Comes with hardshell case, strap, mute and certificate of authenticity.
