Fender Custom Shop 1958 Precision Bass Heavy Relic, 3-Color Sunburst
Throughout years continuous refinement, the Precision Bass as we know it today had fully established itself by 1958 - a period which witnessed the debut of the iconic 3-Colour Sunburst finish, Strat-style headstock, the single-ply gold anodized aluminum pickguard, the split-coil pickup and top mount bridge with individual threaded steel saddles for superior intonation and height adjustment. As only the Fender Custom Shop can, the '58 Precision Bass Heavy Relic recreates this iconic bass faithfully - with a couple of subtle custom appointments for enhanced performance. The two-piece select Alder body boasts a Heavy Relic lacquer finish with pride, like a seasoned road veteran that has graced many a stage. The one-piece quartersawn Maple neck features a 1957-style "soft V" profile, a 9.5" fretboard radius and 20 narrow tall frets create an unparalleled smooth and comfortable playing experience.
The Custom Shop hand-wound '57 Precision Bass pickup delivers a rich, vintage low-end thump, with master volume and tone controls and vintage wiring. Other premium appointments include a single-ply gold anodized pickguard, vintage-style bass bridge with threaded steel saddles, vintage-style machine heads, a bone nut and disk string tree. The Fender Custom Shop Journeyman '58 Precision Bass Heavy Relic comes with a deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
